Just a Small Town Girl

Hello all! My name is Kristi, and I live just outside of a small-ish town in the Midwest on a century farm with my family. I am a mom to four boys under the age of seven and a stepmom to a beautiful teenage daughter. I have been blessed to stay home with my boys full time for about two years now thanks to my hard working husband. So I have experienced being a working mom (full time and part time) as well as a SAHM (as they call it these days).

I find it very valuable to have the perspective of every level of the whole working/not “working” thing. They are all HARD. And they are all rewarding in different ways.

Type B

I like to consider myself a “type B” kind of mom. I don’t make exquisite lunches for my kids with PB&J’s cut into octopuses or do Picasso level crafts with them. But I do keep them alive. And love them. And try REALLY hard to do a good job at this whole parenting thing. My main goal is for them to grow up HAPPY and with the ability to deal with their emotions in a stable fashion. Because that is mainly what being a human is. It wouldn’t hurt if they were contributing members of society someday either.
